“SENTIMENT” Collection, 2024

 

For this Sentiment 2024 collection, I used a lot of materials I had in my studio and storage. I really wanted something super fluid and natural—completely unstructured. Normally, I carefully plan my photo sessions in advance, searching for new accessories and sources of inspiration. It’s an entire process. But for this collection, which unfolded throughout 2024, I decided to just let things flow.

This particular photo session was deeply emotional—almost overwhelmingly so. To be honest, I’m not even sure if I’m ready to express my feelings about it just yet. Maybe I’ll be able to approach it differently in the future.

What I can say is that 2024 has been the hardest year of my life. I know painful events will continue to happen, but for now, I still carry a deep sorrow in my heart. That emotion is subtly reflected in these photographs, and in collaboration with Ileana—who, wow!, conveys her emotions so powerfully as well. We are each on different paths, yet somehow intertwined in the same way.

 

 

The Journey of Rediscovery: Embracing Life Through Challenges

 

When you walk through life with the naivety of belonging—unaware that the unexpected is always lurking around the corner—challenges have a way of arriving unannounced. They catch you off guard, at moments you least expect, leaving you unprepared to handle them. And so, you choose to pretend. You tell yourself everything is fine, that life continues as it should.

 

But those painful moments, heavy with sorrow, fear, and resistance, have a way of reshaping you. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, you change. You become colder, more observant. Your soul starts to meet sadness face-to-face, grappling with it in silence.

 

Eventually, you reach a breaking point. Your body feels exhausted, unable to hold you upright anymore. What you show to the world—your outer beauty, your polished façade—becomes the opposite reflection of your inner turmoil. The world around you is vast and vibrant, brimming with life, yet you can’t see it. Or perhaps, you simply don’t want to.

 

Then, a moment of reckoning arrives. You’re left with one choice: to get up, to get dressed, and to accept that even the mask you’ve been wearing serves a purpose. Because, at the end of the day, nothing inherently has meaning—except the meaning you decide to give it. And so, you take a step forward, out of the shadows. You walk, or better yet, you run. You run toward the harmony you long for, a life that only you can create.

 

It’s on this journey that the real transformation happens. You discover just how much you’re capable of, all the seeds you’ve planted, and the hidden colors and dimensions of yourself that you never knew existed. You begin to recognize your true potential. And in that recognition, you find joy. Joy in rediscovering who you are after everything you’ve endured.

 

This is your story. Your life. And in the process of embracing it, you come to one profound realization: You are alive.

Para esta colección Sentiment 2024, utilicé mucho material que tenía en mi estudio y bodega. Realmente quería algo súper fluido y natural, completamente espontáneo. Normalmente, planifico con anticipación mis sesiones de fotos, buscando nuevos accesorios e inspiración. Es todo un proceso. Pero para esta colección, que se desarrolló a lo largo de 2024, decidí simplemente dejarme llevar.

Esta sesión de fotos en particular fue profundamente emotiva, casi abrumadora. Sinceramente, ni siquiera sé si estoy lista para expresar todo lo que siento al respecto. Tal vez en el futuro lo maneje de otra manera.

Lo único que puedo decir es que 2024 ha sido el año más difícil de mi vida. Sé que seguirán ocurriendo eventos dolorosos, pero por ahora, aún guardo un profundo dolor en mi corazón. Esa emoción se refleja sutilmente en estas fotografías, junto con Ileana, quien ¡wow!, transmite su sentir de una manera increíble. Cada una de nosotras está en un camino distinto, pero de alguna forma seguimos conectadas.

 

 

El Viaje de Redescubrirte: Abrazando la Vida a Través de los Retos

 

Cuando caminas por la vida con la ingenuidad de sentir que perteneces, sin imaginar que lo inesperado siempre está a la vuelta de la esquina, los retos llegan sin previo aviso. Te sorprenden, te descolocan, y a menudo te dejan sin preparación. Pero, en lugar de enfrentarlos, prefieres fingir. Pretendes que todo sigue igual, que todo está bien.

 

Sin embargo, esos momentos dolorosos, cargados de pena, miedo y resistencia, tienen un propósito: transformarte. Lentamente, casi sin notarlo, cambias. Te vuelves más fría, más cautelosa, más observadora. Y tu alma comienza a enfrentarse, cara a cara, con la tristeza.

 

Eventualmente, llegas a un punto de quiebre. Tu cuerpo ya no puede más, apenas puede sostenerse en pie. Lo que proyectas al mundo—tu belleza exterior, tu imagen impecable—es solo un reflejo opuesto de lo que ocurre en tu interior. El mundo a tu alrededor parece inmenso, lleno de vida, pero tú no lo ves. O tal vez, simplemente, no quieres verlo.

 

Entonces llega el momento de decidir. Te queda una sola alternativa: levantarte, vestirte, y aceptar que esa fachada que construiste al principio tiene un propósito. Porque, al final, nada tiene sentido… excepto el sentido que tú decides darle. Debes salir de esa oscuridad, dar un paso hacia adelante, caminar. O mejor aún, correr. Correr hacia esa vida llena de armonía que solo tú puedes crear.

 

En ese trayecto, sucede algo mágico. Descubres lo que eres capaz de lograr. Reconoces todo lo que has sembrado, los colores y facetas de tu ser que antes no conocías. Empiezas a ver tu verdadero potencial, y en ese descubrimiento, encuentras alegría. Alegría en el simple acto de redescubrirte, de reencontrarte contigo misma después de todo lo vivido.

 

Es ahí cuando te das cuenta de algo importante. Esta es tu historia. Esta es tu vida. Y en medio de todo, comprendes algo esencial: estás viva.
